Saturday Centus: First Anniversary

It's the Saturday Centus YO! This week the prompt is "Although the traditional gift for a first anniversary is paper." This whole keeping the post under 100 words plus the prompt is killing me, its so easy for me to get wordy. Thank you word count for keeping me in check. :)

I haven't read any of the other posts, here is my contribution to this weeks challenge.

They had been struggling since the beginning. He loved her deeply; he knew that she loved him, but not the same way. He did what he could to keep her happy, but she still felt resentment toward him, only she knew why.

Broken, he dug for change, “I have to get her something” he told himself. Something, just to let her know that I remember; he went to the counter, card in hand, “give me three Lotto”. The numbers ….. A big winner.  Although the traditional gift for a first anniversary is paper, he bought her the one thing that money can buy, divorce and a better life without him.

Dog Pee Picasso

I have always known that my dogs are special, this is proof. Riley peed on the garage floor, and in all his talent, he peed a deep sea angler fish. He is truely the "Dog Pee Picasso" I can’t wait to see what he’s going to pee next.

I'm Making Banners and Buttons

I've decided to put my photo editing skills to good use, and I'm now making custom banners and buttons. Send me your pictures, I'll morph them into something that's uniquely you. Tattoos Part 5 and 6 The End for Now....

I sat for 3.5 hours for this one, it was all worth it, it's on my low back, (yes, it's a big 'ol tramp stamp) I added the dragon fly later.

This was the last one, well, not the last one, I'll be getting more, just not quite sure what I want. It's on my left shoulder. It's the Tree of Life, it means that everything that comes from the earth returns to the earth.

What is Gourmet?

Gourmet: of or characteristic of a gourmet, especially in involving or purporting to involve high-quality or exotic ingredients and skilled preparation:

I subscribe to a bargain web site email, today the email was all about Easter, the tag line on this exact basket said "Classic Easter Bunny Gourmet Gift Basket" What? Classic definitely, all my fav's Nerds, M&M's Dots, Peeps, gross not Twizzlers, hate Twizzlers, it's Red Vines all the way for me, Jelly Beans a hollow bunny, yay! Sign me up. But wait, none of this stuff is Gourmet, and for $35.00 I can make my own basket and still have money left over for a 5th of whisky. Is this crap what they're passing off as gourmet? All of this stuff is made my machines, there's nothing gourmet here. Where's the chocolate made by Swiss Chocolateers, the hand pulled taffy, the butter cream filled tarts made by children in baking sweat shops? It's just not right.

This weeks Saturday Centus promt is "April showers bring May flowers. 100 words or less not including the prompt. I haven't read any of the other entries, I'm waiting until mine is done. Hope it stacks up.

The Golden Ticket

We were in love, a couple of small town kids with no future. We knew that we would never get out of this town if he didn't enlist. Boot camp was hard, he was gone for what seemed like forever as I planned our wedding. We were married, and he was deployed two weeks later.

April 2^nd, I heard "the knock". Pregnant, and widowed, my love, my life, my ticket out of the hole we were both born into, was gone. Honor was born May 5th, a healthy baby girl, her daddy would have been so proud. Proof that April showers bring May flowers

Saturday Centus anyone?

I decided to try the Saturday Centus this week

Exit 181, 1/2 mile ahead

I was thinking of the perfect words, I was hoping I could make you change your mind. Exit 181, 1/2 mile ahead, my breathing starts to quicken, palms sweat. I exit, and there you are, perfect as always, bags packed waiting for me, and I keep driving.  I’m so sorry.

Tattoos 3-4

Year three, and the aniversary tattoos continue. I drew this one, and the heart used to be pink, but my skin ate the color, and I need to go have it re-done. I think I'll add something to it., because people mistake it for a frog. It's on my right shoulder.

And Number 4
I got this one for my birthday, she's about 8 years old. I like how she looked like she was longing for something, or waiting for someone. She's on the outside of my upper left calf, just below my knee. People mistake her for an owl.

My Tattoos Part 2

On our second aniversary, we wanted another tattoo, I got this... it's two hearts that twine into one, makes sense for year two. It's between my shoulder blades, and now that I look at it, I really need to get it recolored and redrawn. Looks like my skin ate the blue ink that was in it.
