Strange Occurrences in Nature

We went for a long drive up into the mountains yesterday, and as we rounded a corner through a stand of trees to a clear cut, this one lone creepy tree stood. I can understand why the loggers left it there, it's not every day you run into something like this, but it looks evil.

Then this morning, as I was pouring creamer in to my coffee, this happened. OK, I know this isn't nature, it's my kitchen, and it's not just coffee it's Cafe Du' Monde', but it happened all by itself. Not near as good as if the face of Jesus would have appeared, but interesting all the same.

And now for your listening pleasure, Henry plays the harmonica (he calls it a "mouth organ" and it makes me laugh, he's also hell bent on teaching me how to play, I have two and never really got into it)

  1. I'm not seeing a face. I see what looks like a profile of a dog poo or something that I can't type because my child is watching me type.

  4. Oh, Henry! (And I don't mean the chocolate bar). That was good, well, at least way better than his previous song 'renditions' (if you ask me, I think he was pulling your 'other leg 'in the earlier songs- i.e. the one that appears in the coffee cup).
    ;-)

As for that tree - it's TOTALLY rasta! I like it! Things grow strangely here, mostly because of our lack of top soil and the root formations we see are amazing - so, I kinda get the loggers leaving that alone - it's a work of art!

  11. Acutally it was cold, that's why the creamer didn't disolve in, but I know what you're saying ;)

  13. It looked a little phallic and I didn't feel like explaining that word or
the possibility that she would use it in school.

  14. better phalic than perfectly penorific.

  17. Madge, I've been telling folks for years that trees can be evil. You are validating me here. That tree is an evil mofo!

  18. I don't know why they can't be evil. You know what else is evil.. rose of sharon and burbary bush.

  19. Have you ever seen those pics that were circulating, the ones of coffee "art"? Well, none of them was of a nude. I think you should submit your picture to the coffee art people!

  21. I think Henry's actually better than Bob Dylan. Of course, that isn't saying much. I never understood why Dylan bothered with the harmonica, given that he's terrible and obviously never practices. He did write a song called "One More Cup of Coffee Before You Go," however. It also had something to do with a penis.

  22. Henry's harmonica song probably had something to do with a penis too, he doesn't wash his hands much.

  23. That looks like a devil tree...especially standing all alone like that. I don't really know if there is any such thing as a devil tree, but if there is...that's what it looks like. I really like how you scare us with a devil tree but then cheer us up with coffee pornography and music. Nice.

  24. Thanks for the feedback :) I should have done a scare, cheer, scare sandwich, but I didn't have anything else scary.
