I went to Henry's yesterday, and after breakfast I told him that my friends wanted to hear him play his slide whistle. I have a few of his songs on my phone, the slide whistle is a text ring tone, and his harmonica is my ringer. ENJOY!!
I also took pictures of some deer in his back yard
Tell Henry I enjoyed the slide whistle!
ReplyDeleteThanks, and welcome to my place, make yourself at home :)
ReplyDeleteHold up, sister. Henry is 96? Wow, he plays that slide whistle like he's a teenager. Naturally I want to hear him on the harmonica, too.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a teenager play the slide whistle, do they play "Like a G6"?
ReplyDeleteI'll post his harmonica, it's way better, you can almost tell what song he's playing.
Oh, THAT slide whistle!
ReplyDelete;-)
Baahahhahhaaa, I try really hard not to have to look at THAT slide whistle when I'm helping him shower. Good one
ReplyDeleteOh My Word! I LOVE IT. Awwwwww.... Henry is soooo cute playing his slide whistle!
ReplyDeleteHe had to take his top teeth out to play, you can see them just to the left of the plate on the first one. He is really cute, dirty, but cute.
ReplyDeleteI have a slide whistle (she whispers behind her cupped hand).
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Even if it's a little dirty!
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear you play it someitme.
ReplyDeleteHenry has two, I bought both of them for him, the chorme one is too stiff for his weak little arms to play, so he's stuck with the purple one, but he hates it because it's a toy. He likes to tell me about how he'd play it in the orchestra, it wasn't an aochestra it was a barn band.
Ha! Yeah, mine is nickle. I got it about ten years ago --- because it was something I'd always wanted as a kid!
ReplyDeleteI love buying stuff I wanted as a kid. I really wanted an inch worm, all the neighbor kids had them, I had one, but it was hard plastic and it didn't inch.
ReplyDeleteHenry live on blogger!! does he know he's a star on your blog? you need to do an interview I'm sure he'd be great!
ReplyDeleteHe wouldn't get it. He calls the bus ( intercity transit) the Internet as well as the caller id on his phone. I did record him telling a story I'll put it up in a few days.
ReplyDeleteDoes Henry take requests? I'd love to hear some Robbie Robertson :-)
ReplyDeleteHA! I'd love to hear some of that too. Finally heard my song on Pandora yesterday right before I went home. The closest you'd get to Robbie is Old Ruggid Cross I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteI've never even heard of a slide whistle before, but Henry knows his way around one and that's for sure. He looks really young for his age!
ReplyDeleteHe looks great for his age. His face was burned really bad in his late 50's and it was like a lazer peel, he hardly has a wrinkle.
