WTF Dude! Had I known that I was paying almost 4 bucks for 8 cookies I would have bought the Mothers pink frosted circus cookies that I really wanted. You know, the kind with the sprinks and the frosting that coats your mouth with a lard like substance. Had I known that I ate half the bag on the way home from the grocery store I would have stopped at 2. Jesus Sausalito quit being so damn frugal!!
Amen, Sweetie. They are proud of those cookies.
ReplyDeleteI love the animal cookies!
*snort*
ReplyDeleteMy husband LOVES the pink frosted circus cookies.
heh heh heh
Personally, I don't get Milanos either. Just doesn't do it for me and my mac-n-cheese taste buds.
Bring on the lard!
The Milanos are good, but if I want to be wallet raped for mint cookies I'll visit the girl scouts.
ReplyDeleteI like the plain ones that come in the cute little box too.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a cookie eater, but I like Nabisco's (I think) Social Tea biscuits - they are great for dipping in tea or coffee and you get a shitload in the package for around $7.00.
ReplyDeleteI know. That's terrible. But dang! They are good!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about a shitload of cookies, I'll have to try them.
ReplyDeleteThey are good, I think it's the hint of coconut.
ReplyDeleteyeah, they are VERY expensive - but you get what you pay for - they are beyond amazingly delicious!
ReplyDeleteExcept the coconut and the nuts I had everything I needed to make them at home. Scratch that, I have coconut milk I could have substituted for the shreds, same flavor....
ReplyDeletePS if you ever need help modifying a recipe so you can eat it, I'm pretty good at it, and I'd be happy to help you.
Aw! Madge! You're the best.
ReplyDeleteBut really, how satisfying was it to inhale half that bad? As women we dont' allow ourselves these closet pigouts often enough!
ReplyDeleteGood Lord, Madge...you are freaking hilarious! When I read the sentence about the lard I almost spit my bite of Special K all over the computer screen. You are so right, though...what the hell is that substance that coats the roof of your mouth?? It's this terrible waxy substance, and weirds me out every time! I've never tried these cookies you just bought, but maybe I should try them if they are that good. I just spent half my salary on 3 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. Worth every cent.
ReplyDeleteUh, not to make you feel bad, but I get 'em at Target when they're on sale for $2.50. Still expensive, but tolerable.
ReplyDeleteI almost never buy cookies. I've been fighting a cold for two weeks and just wanted some crap to eat. Good to know about target. I feel like Henry with the cookie prices....back in my day you could buy twenty dozen cookies for two bits.
ReplyDeleteHey Jen, nice to see you, glad you have time to read ;)
ReplyDeleteI live less than a mile from the store, can you say inhale?
ReplyDeleteFunny, I was just having a similar thought today about Girl Scout cookies. They are way too expensive for the amount you get. Thin Mints are good but they aren't that good. Besides, I can apparently make my own out of Ritz crackers for a lot less.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Ritz crackers...I'm gooing to have to look that up!
ReplyDeleteLin told us about it at the Slumber Party a few weeks ago ( you really must
ReplyDeletecome, it's a lot of fun). Apparently you use Ritz crackers, melting
chocolate (the kind that you use in molds) and a little peppermint oil. She
said they were better than the real thing.
Stick with ginger snaps and animal crackers!
ReplyDeleteI rationed them when I got home :) ate the last one on Friday.
ReplyDeleteThose Mother's pink circus cookies are the best. I can't buy them because I'll inhale the whole bag. But now that you've got me thinking about them again... damn! Must. Be. Strong.
ReplyDeleteI know they are horrible. But you could stand to eat a couple to enlarge your size 4 ass. Put a little meat on your bones since you keep your house a balmy 58 degrees. :)
ReplyDeleteBut then I'd have to buy bigger pants and they aren't in the budget. Actually, pink cookies aren't either, so I'm safe for the time being. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd opt for Lorna Doone Shortbread Cookies....Cheap, you can fit a whole one in your mouth at once and they too have that awesome "lardiness" to them!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try those, thanks for stopping by :)
