My Tattoos Part 1

For our first aniversary Steve and I decided to get tattoos. It's true what they say, you can't have just one. We went to the tattoo shop and I picked out what I wanted, I got it that night, and Steve went the next day to get his. We didn't set out to get matching tattoos, it just sort of worked out that way. I didn't know that it was a Masonic symbol. I just liked the way it looked. It stands for stability and Gods grace and ever watching eye. I'm not religous by any sense of the word, but I like what it stands for. It's on my right ankle, and I've had it for 13 years.

  1. Nice, but now I want to know if it hurt! I'm a coward. No needles if I can help it, EVER.

  2. I don't have any tattoos. Wanna see my scars?

  3. Only if they were from a knife fight or a shark bite. :) I laughed really hard when I read your comment, thanks for the morning smile.

  4. It only hurts for the first few minutes, then the endorphins kick in and it's more annoying than anything. They like to compare it to the feeling of a vibrating cat scratch. It was the most well, not painful, but I guess sensitive to heal, like a bad burn, I couldn't let the covers touch it.

  5. That's a pretty cool tatt, and I like what it stands for. Why'd you get it on your ankle, though? Doesn't it creep you out to have that eye staring up your skirt all the time?

  6. Thanks, It doesn't bother me to have the eye staring up, it keeps me modest. :)~

  8. Kudos to you! I've always been afraid of the pain and what it would look like when I am 85 years old.

  9. I refuse to get them on places that stretch a lot, stomach, butt, boob, no thanks.

  11. I don't think I could ever get a tatt for the same reason as Melissa (the aging part) - but the pain I probably could handle.
    ;-)

I am, however, a member of the "Dot Club": my first boyfriend was giving himself a tattoo and jabbed me once in the arm.

  14. Now I'm feeling squeamish. I'm not a fan of pain.

  16. I don't know what it is about tattoos, it's like the pain is all worth it in the end. I love the sound of a tattoo shop, makes my heart race. Kind of like a Hemi

  17. I feel like I'm being watched by your ankle. I will send you a pair of one-eyed sunglasses.

    Hee Hee.

  22. Now that you told us what it means, will you have to kill us?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yep. And I have another - in my buttocks (love that word - it's so Forrest Gump) - from a first grade classmate who was trying to hit on me but used a very sharp pencil instead of using it to write me a poem.

  26. I want more too, I think maybe an asian ocean on the left side of my back, and a firestorm on the right. Just over the shoulder blades.
If i knew I would never have to work again I'd have full sleeves.
